main part of KOVALAM consists of two palm-fringed coves,
seperated from the beaches on either side by rocky headlands.
The southern headland is marked by a prominent lighthouse.There
is a good surf but be wary of the rips. |

on the beach sell batik lungis, beach mats and leaf paintings.
KOVALAM beach has numerous craft and carpet shops. |

Almost
all restaurants offer the standard Asian travellers' menu.
At night, you can dine by candlelight on the beach and
order from a variety of seafood, Coconut beer called Toddy
and Feni are available from shops. |
